Your contest data
The browser app does not require an account. Contest setup, selected countries, voting groups, entries, voting matrices, current results, and simulator language use temporary session storage to carry the active contest between screens in the same tab. They are not saved to local storage or sent to a contest database. Closing the tab ends the session; browsers may restore session storage when restoring a closed tab or browser session. Website and blog language is part of the page URL.
Picker comparisons remain only on the current page and reset on reload. The web edition has no records, saved presets, or import/export controls. If session storage is blocked, the current screen can keep temporary state in memory, but it cannot carry that state to another page.
Persistent data from older releases is not read or modified by this edition. You can remove old site data using your browser's site settings.
Website delivery and technical information
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. Requests to the site disclose technical information such as the requesting IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to the hosting service. Cloudflare may process security or performance information and set security-related cookies to detect abuse and deliver the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The website homepage and editorial pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Simulator country flags and picker images are served with the site. Your browser contacts these services to retrieve those resources, which exposes connection information such as your IP address and browser details to them. See Google's privacy policy for Google's practices. We do not attach your contest entries or custom jury names to font or flag requests.
The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and page-loading performance. Its browser script sends performance measurements to Cloudflare. Cloudflare describes these analytics as cookie-free and says they do not use browser storage or track individual visitors across websites. These measurements are separate from your temporary contest state. See Cloudflare's analytics data collection documentation and information about its browser measurements.
Optional Google Analytics
With your acceptance, Google Analytics measures visits and usage across the website, blog, and simulator. Google receives page addresses, browser and device information, and other technical information from analytics requests. We do not send your contest entries, custom jury names, voting matrices, or results to Analytics. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled in this integration.
The Google Analytics tag does not load until you select Accept in the analytics banner. Selecting Decline leaves it disabled. A first-party cookie named sc_analytics_consent remembers your choice for 180 days. If you accept, Google Analytics can set _ga and _ga_* cookies with a configured lifetime of 180 days, refreshed during accepted visits. These cookies are separate from your temporary contest data.
You can reopen the banner using Analytics settings in the website footer, including on this page, or in Help & info on Play/picker. Selecting Decline stops this site's Analytics collection and removes its accessible Analytics cookies; it does not delete information already received by Google. If cookies are blocked, your choice may need to be repeated on another page. See how Google uses information from sites and apps. Analytics choices do not grant advertising consent.
Advertising
Advertising is disabled in the current default release configuration. The site retains Google AdSense ownership verification. Verification metadata and the ads.txt declaration are not themselves advertising cookies.
If advertising is enabled, it is limited to selected editorial guide pages. The simulator, setup, picker, result, privacy, and contact screens do not load the AdSense advertising code. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads based on those visits. Advertising partners may also process technical identifiers and ad-interaction information.
Where applicable, the advertising consent message offers choices about advertising storage and personalization. Advertising for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland must not be enabled until the required Google-certified consent-management setup is in place.
When advertising and the consent message are available, visitors covered by the European regulations message can reopen their choices using Privacy and cookie settings in the footer of an eligible guide, such as Your first contest. For applicable US state regulations, Google's message provides its Do Not Sell or Share control. These controls are not shown while advertising is disabled or when the relevant message is unavailable. If you cannot access a choice you expect, contact fjrp@songcontestsimulator.com.
You can also manage Google's personalized advertising through My Ad Center or review participating vendors' choices through YourAdChoices. See how Google uses information from sites and apps.
